(Yicai) Aug. 18 -- Chinese civil engineering giant Sinoma International Engineering has won an engineering, procurement, and construction contract for a cement production line in Saudi Arabia worth USD298 million.
Sinoma’s subsidiary in Saudi Arabia will build a new production line with a daily output of 10,000 tons of cement clinker at the cement factory of Qassim Cement in Buraydah, the capital city of the Saudi province of Qassim, the Beijing-based company announced on Aug. 15.
The production line will cover the entire cement manufacturing process, from limestone crushing to product dispatch, Sinoma noted, adding that production will begin within 24 months of the day Qassim Cement issues a letter of credit and completes the site handover.
In April, Sinoma secured another contract to build a consumer electronics manufacturing base in Saudi Arabia for Chinese personal computer giant Lenovo Group. The deal was worth USD263 million.
Sinoma’s shares [SHA: 600970] were trading down 0.1 percent at CNY9.19 (USD1.28) as of 2 p.m. in Shanghai today.
