(Yicai) Sept. 29 -- China’s Unisonal Aluminum expects to generate about CNY2.3 billion (USD322.4 million) in revenue over seven years through the supply of battery trays and related parts for electric vehicles made by a major German automaker.
The deal will be led by Unisonal’s wholly-owned subsidiary, ZS Europe, with mass production scheduled to begin in September 2027, the Shanghai-based company said recently. The automaker’s name was not disclosed due to a confidentiality agreement.
Founded in Bulgaria in 2023, ZS Europe serves as Unisonal’s European hub for manufacturing aluminum auto parts, supporting the company’s expansion into the global EV supply chain.
Battery trays -- structural casings that house and protect EV batteries -- are among Unisonal’s core product lines. The company already supplies major international clients, including Tesla and Volvo, as well as leading Chinese battery manufacturers Contemporary Amperex Technology and BYD, according to its initial public offering prospectus.
Shares of Unisonal [SHA: 603418] fell 0.8 percent to CNY66.31 (USD9.30) in Shanghai today. The stock has declined for four straight trading days after soaring 71 percent above its IPO price on debut at the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Sept. 23.
