(Yicai Global) March 7 -- Chinese investors plan to inject more than USD30 billion into projects in Russia's far eastern region, the country's ambassador says.

China accounts for 85 percent of foreign investment in the region, Sputnik News reported Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui as saying, with the oil and gas industry as well as agriculture and finance among most active areas for financing.

Cooperation in the Far East is an important development area in bilateral relations, Li said. There are currently 20 Chinese companies operating in the region's pre-development zone and free port of Vladivostok.

China intends to provide favorable conditions in the near future to facilitate imports and exports with Russia, especially with the Far East, he added.
