(Yicai Global) Jan. 21 -- Chinese hackers have exploited a loophole on e-commerce platform Pinduoduo to steal coupons worth millions of dollars.
Pinduoduo has now rectified the issue and referred the case to the police, the Shanghai-based firm said on its Weibo account
"We will actively cooperate with relevant departments to clamp down on the online gangs," it added.
The platform's loophole meant that users could procure CNY100 (USD14.8) coupons for use on any products with a one-year validity period, according to reports online.
Pinduoduo did not fix the issue until the morning of Jan. 20 when unused vouchers were made invalid.
