(Yicai Global) Oct. 30 -- China's mainland stock markets faltered in the morning after opening down.

The Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.44 percent to 2,941.25. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 9,667.94, down 0.8 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, declined by 0.5 percent to 1,678.18.
