(Yicai Global) Jan. 7 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland closed at multi-month zeniths, as the prospect of better and more certain trade relation between China and US heartened investors to seek to pluck riskier fruits.

The Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.69 percent at 3,104.80 at the close, its highest final note in nine months.

The Shenzhen component index closed 1.22 percent higher at 10,829.05 in a 20-month apex, while the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, shot up 1.79 percent to finish at 1,893.21, also a 20-month high.
