(Yicai Global) Oct. 10 -- China's leading online lodging marketplace, Tujia.com, run by TuJia Online Information and Technology Co. and often referred to as China's Airbnb, has obtained USD300 million in E-round financing led by prominent shareholder Ctrip.com International Ltd. [NASDAQ:CTRP], the country's largest online travel booking platform, online media outlet TechWeb reported yesterday.

"Tujia has obtained USD300 million in financing for its online platform, and is valued at more than USD1.5 billion," said founder Luo Jun. "Ctrip and All-Stars Investment led the investment."

The funds will be used to optimize user experience, improve the standardization of alternative forms of accommodation and to develop its presence overseas, he added.

Tujia.com gained USD300 million D-round financing in August 2015, and at the end of October last year, acquired a homestay business owned by Ctrip and travel firm Qunar Cayman Islands Ltd. Since then, Luo has made major adjustments to the company's organizational structure and established an offline business.

Founded in December 2011, Tujia.com covers 345 domestic and 1,037 overseas locations with over 650,000 listings.
