Chinese Shares Open Mixed Ahead of MSCI Boost

(Yicai Global) Nov. 25 -- Chinese mainland stock markets were headed to different directions this morning while anticipating MSCI's move to increase the weighting of mainland stocks in its Emerging Markets Index tomorrow.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.01 percent up at 2,885.61. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.01 percent to 9,626.41. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks Shenzhen-listed growth enterprises, rose 0.14 percent to 1,682.23.

MSCI will boost the weight of existing large-caps and add a batch of mid-caps to take mainland-listed shares' overall weighting to 4.1 percent in its EMI after markets close on Nov. 26.
