(Yicai) Feb. 23 -- Chinese intelligent robot manufacturer Unitree Robotics has secured nearly CNY1 billion (USD138.9 million) in its latest fundraiser.

Chinese lifestyle platform Meituan, Goldstone Investment, and Source Code participated in the Series B2 financing round, the Hangzhou-based company announced yesterday. Existing shareholders Shenzhen Capital Group and China Internet Investment Fund also took part.

The proceeds will be used for the research and development of new products, business expansion, and team building, Unitree added.

Founded in August 2016, Unitree focuses on the R&D, production, and sales of consumer and industry-class high-performance general-purpose legged and humanoid robots, six-axis manipulators, and others, according to its website.

Unitree’s main business focus is legged robots. The firm forayed into the humanoid robot field last year.
