(Yicai Global) Jan. 11 – Chinese metal firm YongXing Special Stainless Steel Co. has developed a large-diameter stainless steel seamless tube blank product to meet demand for oversize-diameter stainless seamless pipes in domestic infrastructure projects.

Based in Huzhou in China's eastern Zhejiang province, the company will market the 700mm-diameter tubes to downstream customers through bulk sales, it said in a press briefing yesterday.

Demand for larger diameter metal product has increased in recent years in China's infrastructure development sector. Traditional production methods are increasingly unable to meet the requirements of end-users, and some pipe makers are turning to cold-rolling for the production of large-diameter seamless tubes, which uses ultra-large diameter forged stainless steel seamless tube blank as a raw material, the firm said.
