(Yicai Global) Dec. 6 -- The Chinese stock markets opened amid damper sentiments as doubts on whether the US-China trade relations will improve added pressures that weighed down investor confidence.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.75 percent lower at 2629.82 points. The Shenzhen Component Index declined 0.93 percent to 7854.59 points overnight. The ChiNext Price Index dropped 0.75 percent to 1371.34 points at the open.

Tech stocks may be one particular category that will face fluctuations today as it was reported this morning that Huawei Technologies' Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou has been detained in Vancouver. This may wither the blossoms of a trade truce that was settled between China and the US on Dec. 1 at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires.
