(Yicai Global) July 16 -- China's mainland stock markets started the day almost unchanged as investors are waiting for the official second-half economic data to be released.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.15 percent lower at 3,356.36. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.02 percent to 13,731.29. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, began 0.06 percent stronger at 2,814.80.

The National Bureau of Statistics should reveal how fast the country is recovering from the pandemic this morning.
