Chinese Video Website AcFun Is Accessible Again After Three Day Hiatus Chinese Video Website AcFun Is Accessible Again After Three Day Hiatus

(Yicai Global) Nov. 28 -- AcFun, the first barrage video website in mainland China, was inaccessible for three days in a row. While the website said that an attack and a temporary physical connection suspension caused the issue, some suspected the site had been shut down. The site was accessible again at 9:30 am today.

Regulators have repeatedly punished the site as it failed to obtain a permit for transmitting audio and video programs via information networks. AcFun's operator received notices from various authorities in June, July and September and they ordered the company to resolve issues with video content on the site.

Established in June 2007, AcFun has many young users and helped China's anime culture develop. Several investment funds and firms, including Chinese All Digital Publishing Group Co. [SHE:300364] and SB China Venture Capital, have backed the site.
