Comac Delivers First Chinese Jet to Overseas Airline(Yicai Global) Dec. 19 -- The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, also known as Comac, has delivered one of its ARJ21 jetliners to Indonesian low-cost carrier TransNusa, marking the first time that a Chinese passenger plane has been delivered to an overseas client.
TransNusa has taken delivery of an ARJ21, a regional aircraft with 95 economy-class seats, customized cabin interiors, seats, and livery, Shanghai-based Comac said in a statement on its official WeChat account yesterday.
Indonesia, the largest economy in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, has one of the world’s fastest-growing civil aviation markets, with TransNusa operating domestic routes and international flights to neighboring countries.
Comac will provide TransNusa with customer service and operational support throughout the aircraft’s life cycle, sparing no effort to guarantee its safe and smooth operation, the firm added.
The ARJ21’s fully loaded range is between 2,225 kilometers and 3,700 km. It is mainly used to connect large city hubs with smaller neighboring cities.
Nearly 100 ARJ21s have been delivered to Chinese carriers since the jet came onto the market in June 2016. The aircraft have been used on more than 300 routes, connecting more than 100 cities, and safely transporting over 5.6 million passengers.
