Drugmakers Halve Prices to Make China’s Insurance Fund List(Yicai Global) Dec. 28 -- Drugmakers have agreed to cut the prices of 119 treatments by an average of just over 50 percent so that they will be included in China’s national medical insurance program.
The National Healthcare Security Administration today announced the latest list of drugs to be covered by China’s medical insurance scheme from March 1. It now includes 2,800 treatments.
The NHSA held talks on 162 drugs this year, successfully negotiating the prices of 119, 96 of which have no generic versions in the Chinese market.
