(Yicai) June 5 -- The China Securities Regulatory Commission will release new policies targeting the capital market during the 15th Lujiazui Forum.
The news was unveiled by Wang Li, deputy director of the general office of the CSRC, at a press conference held by the Shanghai Municipal Government yesterday.
The chairman of the CSRC, officials from the Shanghai Stock Exchange, heads of the Chinese and foreign governments, financial regulatory departments, and international financial organizations will participate in the Lujiazui Forum that will be held in Shanghai on June 19 and June 20, Yicai learned.
Wu Qing, chairman of the CSRC, will deliver a speech themed ‘Promoting World Economic Growth Through High-Quality Financial Development’ at the Lujiazui Forum on the opening day. Fang Xinghai, vice chairman of the CSRC, and Qiu Yong, chairman of the SSE, will take the floor to discuss the topic ‘Technological Innovation and High-Quality Development of Capital Markets.’
Against the backdrop of a complicated external environment and a new round of reforms and opportunities, digitalization and low-carbon development will become a major growth direction for the global economy, said Wang.
Therefore, this year’s Lujiazui Forum will be themed ‘Promoting World Economic Growth Through High-Quality Financial Development’ to discuss how to promote high-quality financial development via reform and innovation in the financial sector and advance sustained growth by solving issues regarding the global economy relying on high-quality financial development, Wang noted.
The Lujiazui Forum will have a total of eight plenary session, covering hot topics in the economic and financial fields, said Zhou Xiaoquan, executive deputy director of the Financial Office of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
‘Strengthening International Monetary Policy Coordination to Address Global Economic Recovery Challenges,’ ‘Technological Innovation and the High-Quality Development of Capital Markets,’ ‘Green Financial System Innovation and Market Incentives,’ ‘Aligning with High-Standard Economic and Trade Rules to Promote High-Level Financial Institutional Opening,’ ‘Silver Economy and Pension Finance,’ ‘Digital Financial Innovation and Governance,’ and ‘Building a High-Quality Inclusive Financial System’ are among the topics of the eight plenary sessions.
The Lujiazui Forum will also include an international seminar on rule of law in the financial system and host a ‘Studio on Sci-Tech Innovation Finance,’ Zhou noted. A series of signing and launch ceremonies will also take place during the event.
