(Yicai Global) Oct. 31 -- Dynamic Parcel Distribution(DPD) has set up 2,000 locations to receive deliveries from Chinese e-commerce platform Tmall, run by Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA], across 500 cities in Russia, Sputnik reported, quoting Leonid Zorn de Berg, business manager in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

DPD is Tmall's main logistics operator in Russia, the report said.

Tmall opened a portal in the country on Oct. 18, capable of receiving orders through DPD's delivery services. "The goods arrive the next day in big cities, though it takes three to five days in other places," Zorn de Berg said.

The delivery services are needed in smaller residential areas, but buyers in big cities tend to pick up orders themselves, he added.

Tmall is one of Alibaba's online retail platforms. It stocks over 5,000 popular brands, including children's items, clothing, and electronic devices made by world famous suppliers.
