(Yicai Global) Dec. 31 -- China's three major stock benchmarks climbed this morning despite their different starting points with agricultural shares leading the group of gainers with a 1.24 percent increase during the first few minutes. Pharmaceutical companies' equities edged up 1.1 percent.
The Shanghai Composite Index began 0.12 percent lower at 3,036.39. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 10,360.78, down 0.05 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, inched up 0.03 percent to 1,790.80.
