(Yicai Global) Feb. 12 -- Several major  international securities brokerages have committed cash and resources to support China's fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic currently sweeping the nation, according to the Securities Association of China.

Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific, which does not include its Japan unit, will donate USD1 million to fund the battle against the outbreak, its regional head James Paradise told the association. Other major donors include US-based alternative investment management firm Citadel, which pledged CNY52 million (USD7.5 million), while J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and UBS Group also donated USD1 million each.

Hong Kong-based HSBC, Japan's Nomura Holdings and Daiwa Securities also contributed to the cause.
