(Yicai Global) Nov. 1 -- Listed Chinese firms with links to Hon Hai Precision Industry, a contract manufacturer which is coping with a Covid-19 outbreak at the world's largest iPhone production base, say that the impact remains to be seen after a large number of factory workers fled the premises.

Kuangshun Photosensitivity New-Material Stock said to Yicai Global that the Jiangyin-based maker of inks and coatings is already moving onto automotive coatings as Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, is only one of its clients in the segment of new materials for consumer electronics. The situation does not affect the company much, it added.

Many workers have decided to return to their hometowns amid a Covid-19 outbreak at Foxconn's plant in central China's Zhengzhou, Yicai Global learned from several sources. The iPhone assembler said it offers incentives for those who want to stay while entering a closed-loop management system to require employees to stay and live at the workplace.

No cases with severe symptoms have been confirmed at the factory in Henan province, Henan Daily reported, citing an executive. The outbreak is generally under control with the government's strong assistance. Foxconn will coordinate with other plants to meet the current peak production demand for iPhone 14.

Zhejiang province-based Tony Tech said that its cooperation with New Taipei-based Foxconn only accounts for a small proportion of all business. The wire manufacturer's major customer is Luxshare Precision Industry, another Apple supplier. The impact of the incident still needs to be seen, it added.

Jingquanhua Electronics said the electromagnetic components maker mainly works with Foxconn in Shenzhen so the pair's business is still running normally. The business volume is not significant so the impact has not been large yet.
