(Yicai Global) Sept. 5 – The Hong Kong Exchange's future exchange system had a connection problem this morning, the bourse announced on its account on China's Twitter-like Weibo at 11.00 a.m.

The HKEX.com.hk and HKEXGroup.com websites are currently experiencing intermittent technical difficulties, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing said in a noontime statement it sent to media.

Trading became very slow on the futures board and prices became unstable after the spot market opened, brokers said.

"We are aware of some connectivity issues with our derivatives trading system, the Hong Kong Futures Automatic Trading System. We are looking into the matter and will provide updates in due course. The derivatives market remains open, and all other markets remain fully operational," the HKSE said in the statement.
