(Yicai Global) Aug. 9 -- More than 200 exhibitors and buyers, including US General Electric and Japan's Canon, participated in a matchmaking event regarding the equipment area of the second China International Import Expo as the countdown logged 88 days till the nationwide trade fair yesterday.

German warehouse truck maker Jungheinrich, Japanese industrial robot firm Nachi-Fujikoshi and French electrical equipment giant Schneider Electric also took part in the meeting that the CIIE bureau organized and Yicai Global attended at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai. The second CIIE will be held in November at the same venue and the CIIE bureau has already held matchmaking events for five expo areas as well as roadshows in nine cities across China.

Canon Japan will showcase its on-demand printing solutions, the Tokyo-headquartered firm told Yicai Global. GE will bring its industrial equipment and digital solutions covering the five areas of aviation, energy, healthcare, oil and gas, as well as smart manufacturing, the Boston-headquartered company said. 

Some of the buyers at the event included China Railway, China National Pharmaceutical Group, Xiaomi, as well as the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
