(Yicai Global) Feb. 8 -- The online project-based education developer GEC Academy, whose business to introduce top teachers from the US into China, has completed its Pre-A series financing of tens of millions of yuan and will use the proceeds to develop online courses, further expand its team and promote its products.

Unity Ventures and Golden Education jointly invested in th funding round. After the completion of th round of financing, GEC Academy will capitalize on its experience and teaching resources accumulated for years from offline project-based learning courses to create online products, and help its users amass practical operation experience from these projects, deeply experience the workplace environment and enrich their resumes. 

Affiliated with Beijing Global Education Connection Technology, the academy was founded by alumni from Columbia and Harvard universities. It integrates quality education resources in the US, such as top professors, core courses and the extra-curricular practices led by field research. The Academy then introduces them into China as part of its project scheme. By sharing the free time of quality US professors and Wall Street executives with investment banks, the Academy gives ordinary Chinese students the chance to participate in projects with the industry-leading teachers from famous universities or follow the practices of the most veteran on Wall Street bankers and analysts.

Most of its lecturers are teachers from top-20 US colleges, veteran executives, experts of investment banks on Wall Street, and data scientts in Silicon Valley. The Academy has formed stable partnerships with more than 80 teachers.

The Academy has reaped profits since its inception, said Shen Cong, its co-founder and chief executive.
