(Yicai) Sept. 4 -- Exhibitors from countries, including Germany, Argentina, and Japan, are participating in the China International Fair for Trade in Services to partner with local companies and sell more services in China.

Schleswig-Holstein, a state in northwestern Germany, has advantages in marine industries such as offshore wind power and shipbuilding, per Ma Ke, a project manager at the China office of the Schleswig-Holstein Business Center. The state collaborates a lot with Chinese companies in wind power, said Ma who joined the event for the first time.

Germany can provide cutting-edge technologies and China has an edge in terms of large-scale application, which can put Germany’s technologies to the test, Ma said, adding that for example, China’s experience in building wind farms in mountainous areas and deserts can help Germany advance its offshore wind power technologies.

Germany is also joining hands with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Ma said, adding that Germany has strong technologies and achievements regarding science but not as much clinical trial data as China has.

Rodrigo Gomez from Argentina’s embassy in China said that the South American country is developing technologies in agriculture, medical services, as well as e-commerce. Argentina is looking to team up with Chinese companies and provide knowledge-intensive services, he added.

Jin Jinghao, investment director of the Beijing office of the Japan External Trade Organization, said that Japan is mostly paying attention to technology, manufacturing, life science and renewable energy in service trade.
