(Yicai) Feb. 29 -- Shares of Huachangda Intelligent Equipment Group surged after the Chinese smart production line supplier said its units received orders from two foreign new energy vehicle manufacturers.

Huachangda [SHE: 300278] closed up 12.9 percent at CNY3.59 (50 US cents) in Shenzhen today.

Huachangda’s unit Hubei DMW Intelligent Equipment will supply USD25.9 million worth of smart conveyor production lines to an overseas client, while its other unit Shanghai Demeike Auto Equipment Manufacturing will provide another overseas client with CNY222.9 million (USD31 million) worth of smart production lines to make car bodies, the Hubei province-based parent company announced yesterday.

The two clients, which were not named in the statement due to a confidentiality agreement, ordered smart production equipment from Huachangda between 2020 and 2022, the firm added, noting that the client of Demeike purchased products worth CNY149 million in 2022.

Huachangda supplies automatic production equipment and production lines to automakers and logistics services providers, as well as turnkey engineering services for general contracting of process equipment, according to the company’s latest earnings report.

General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Honda Motor, Toyota Motor, and Tesla are among Huachangda’s most famous overseas carmaking clients. Boeing, Airbus, and FedEx are some of the firm’s standing cooperation clients.
