(Yicai Global) Nov. 28 -- The Industrial and Commercial Bank Of China Ltd. [SHA:601398; HK:1398] and JD.com Inc. [NASDAQ:JD] jointly introduced digital banking services yesterday, making it possible to handle some traditional banking activities online and simplifying operations. The two companies will work together to build offline consumer services and connect ICBC's online and offline resources.

By introducing services aimed at young customers, ICBC became the first bank in China to deliver its banking services on an internet platform, utilizing technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence to create a new retail finance system that can handle some functions that customers could only take care of at ICBC outlets in the past. Users can request proof of funds documents online and JD Logistics will deliver them.

ICBC and JD.com will make an offline self-service precious metal shopping facility that features multi-screen interaction and somatosensory interaction, and allows consumers to get product information offline and make purchases online.
