(Yicai Global) June 17 – Beijing’s government has stepped up quarantine and disinfection of public places, such as farmers’ markets, catering companies, and residential quarters, in a bid to quickly contain the spread of the coronavirus after a new Covid-19 cluster emerged.
Beijing also raised its emergency response level from three to two last night.
The city has reported 31 newly diagnosed cases, three suspected cases and six asymptomatic infections over 24 hours yesterday, according to the latest official data from city authorities. A total of 137 patients have been diagnosed with Covid-19 since June 11, all linked to the Xinfadi wholesale food market.
