(Yicai Global) June 1 -- People and vehicles returned to the streets of Shanghai yesterday evening, as barricades and fences were removed amid a winding down of Covid-19 restrictions in the city.

Around midnight, younger people who could not contain their excitement were still out and about.

Police officers cart away barricades from the famous Waibaidu Bridge at the Bund at 11.40 p.m. last night.

People return to the bridge after the barriers were taken down at 11.30 p.m. yesterday.

Night strollers head to the Bund past Waibaidu Bridge at 12 a.m. this morning.

Residents stretch their legs along the pedestrianized section of Nanjing Road at 8.20 p.m. yesterday.
