(Yicai Global) June 16 -- Ant Financial Services Corp. and JD Finance, have released their self-operated platforms in a row, trying to attract cooperators from traditional financial institutions.

These two internet finance giants -- both offshoots of e-commerce businesses -- seek to leverage their superiorities in existing scenarios and channels and further upgrading technologies.

Ant Financial is the financial services subsidiary of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA], while JD Finance is the financial sub-business of JD.com Inc. [NASDAQ:JD].JD Finance opened its self-operated platform styled Jingdong Hangjia this April, with nine publicly-offered fund companies stationed in the program's phase one. A dozen other fund companies are also poised to start operating on the platform soon. Ant Fortune, the one-stop wealth management platform of Ant Financial was upgraded on June 14, with a new app named Fortune concurrently released, which is now fully accessible to such financial institutions as fund companies and banks.

The strategies of these two internet finance giants mainly comprise two parts, namely to build channels accessible to various users on their products, and to export their system construction and maintenance capability, said an insider.

"We expect to offer a platform to financial institutions to give free rein to their various financial businesses," said Fan Zhiming, president of Ant Financial and in charge of its wealth business group.

More fund companies and banks will be stationed on this platform sequentially, he said. Further, channels for sales of money funds by proxy will also be available on Ant Fortune. After purchasing money funds through Ant Fortune, users will have more choices aside from Yu'e Bao, a service Ant Financial offers. Ant Financial is also applying its latest artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on the upgraded platform for financial institutions, to use to achieve their targeted marketing towards users. Through AI technologies, the transformation rate of exposed product advertisements to transactions will be lifted to over 99 percent by Ant Fortune, per a source from Ant Financial.

Traditional financial institutions like banks can be exempted from the costs of stationing on the platform, and both parties can achieve substantial mutual benefits and win-win results, explained Wang Yu, general manager of the credit card retail center of Industrial Bank Co.

"It is sort of like the relationship between the WeChat platform and traditional media's official accounts," as one professional characterized the link between these new open platforms and traditional financial institutions.
