Jing'an Global Connect Holds Symposium on Last-Mile Services for Foreign Residents(Yicai) Oct. 27 -- Jing’an Global Connect, a one-stop international service hub for expats in Shanghai’s core Jing’an district, has held the ‘City Partners Salon Series - Session for Foreign Friends,’ aiming to make the city’s last-mile services for foreigners more efficient and welcoming.
During the open-mic session, more than 10 foreign guests from multinational companies, media, trade, and other sectors shared their experiences living, working, and handling administrative matters in Jing’an. They offered valuable suggestions and raised practical concerns about local government services, daily life, cultural and tourism experiences, and social integration.
The symposium also featured a ‘government face-to-face’ session, during which representatives from the Shanghai Airport Border Inspection Authority and government departments of Jing’an district responded to the concerns and suggestions raised by the expats.
Topics covered included electronic port visas, expedited clearance registration for foreigners, overseas talent support policies, foreign-related legal services, cross-border taxation, international marriage registration and notarization, and international cultural, business, and tourism resources.
The symposium was jointly organized by the Jing'an Global Connect and Yicai, with more than 50 guests participating. It aimed to create a face-to-face communication platform between foreign residents and government departments, focus on the real needs of expats in work and daily life, and explore ways to improve and upgrade foreign-related services.
The event invited participants including foreign residents and workers in Shanghai, international experience officers, executives from foreign-invested institutions, experts and scholars, and representatives from multiple departments of the Shanghai and Jing’an governments.
