(Yicai) Aug. 8 -- The Mexican and Thai factories of Lizhong Sitong Light Alloys Group, a Chinese manufacturer of aluminum alloy materials and wheels, have received designated supply notifications from two well-known international automotive firms worth over CNY1.6 billion (USD228 million).
Lizhong’s Thai plant has become the designated aluminum alloy wheel supplier of a well-known international commercial vehicle manufacturer, the Hebei province-based firm announced yesterday. Mass production is expected to start in October, with a total sales value of CNY833 million (USD116 million).
Meanwhile, the company’s factory in Mexico has been named the low-pressure cast aluminum alloy wheel supplier by a renowned foreign automaker, Lizhong added. The project is expected to begin mass production in September 2027 and last four years, with total sales of about CNY810 million (USD112 million).
Lizhong noted that it could not unveil the identity of the two clients nor release any further information about the deals because of confidentiality agreements.
The Thai factory’s deal to supply products to a commercial vehicle maker marks Lizhong’s successful expansion into this market segment, the firm noted, adding that the two plants securing these orders reflect overseas clients’ recognition of Lizhong’s product quality and global supply chain assurance capabilities.
The two orders are expected to have a positive impact on the company’s operating performance in future years, Lizhong pointed out.
Lizhong is one of the largest aluminum alloy wheel suppliers in China, with a total production of 21.4 million units last year. The annual revenue from its aluminum alloy wheel business exceeded CNY9.2 billion in 2024, accounting for about 34 percent of the company’s total revenue, according to the company's latest annual financial statement.
Lizhong’s shares [SHE: 300428] closed 0.7 percent up at CNY18.63 (USD2.59) in Shenzhen today.
