(Yicai Global) Oct. 16 -- Makeup short video multi-channel network Beauty Q said that it has received USD9.1 million (CNY60 million) in B-round financing from Meridian Capital China and Qianhai Fund of Funds LLP, Jiemian.com reported.
The Shenzhen-based firm will use the financing to grow its team and userbase and expand into new fashion categories, said Beauty Q founder Lu Hao, a former China Entertainment Television Broadcast Ltd. executive.
Beauty Q has more than 200 content creators with over 50 million fans generating more than 800 million views per month. A fifth of the top 20 and top 50 picks at last year's Weibo beauty celebrities contest were from Beauty Q.
Beauty Q focuses on advertising and e-commerce, and it reportedly achieved monthly profitability in March. It has a domestic female fashion product creation team as well as makeup artists for actors and internet celebrities.
