(Yicai Global) March 21 -- The China Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair, held in Fuzhou, southeastern Fujian province, has closed with USD4 billion worth of tentative deals, ChinaNews reported today, citing the organizing committee.

The fair, which ended yesterday, attracted exhibitors in more than 60 special industries from over 20 provinces and cities in China and boasted a display area of around 70,000 square meters, the report said. Organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Fujian Provincial Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, some 50 activities and forums were held during the three-day event.

Procurement teams were sent from over 30 e-commerce associations from around the country, including eastern Jiangsu province, northeastern Jilin province, the southwestern municipality of Chongqing, southeastern Fujian province, it said.

Several cross-border e-retail co-operation deals were signed at the fair. Among them, the Fujian E-Commerce Promotion Association and the Philippine E-Commerce United Association linked arms to promote online sales cooperation between China and the Philippines.

The e-commerce fair will become more internationally oriented to help exporters and cross-border e-retailers to go global, set up a better quality and more diversified international supply chain and expand their footprint overseas, said Ruan Weixing, founder of the fair and president of the Fujian Import and Export Chamber of Commerce.

The organizing committee is preparing to hold a number of exhibitions overseas this year in countries such as the US, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia, Ruan said. As the fallout from the pandemic ebbs, more Chinese firms are going abroad on group business tours to drum up orders.
