China's Moviegoers Distance, Wear Masks, Forgo Food and Drink as Cinemas Reopen(Yicai Global) July 21 --Cinemas in China’s low Covid-19 risk areas reopened yesterday after a nearly 180-day hiatus with coronavirus control measures such as film fans buying tickets online using their real names, sitting in seating staggered every other row and every other place, wearing masks and not eating or drinking in cinemas.

This photo shows the entrance to the movie hall in a Shanghai cinema. Staffers check the temperatures of the first arrivals, who must also present their Shanghai health QR Code and register their personal information before entering the main theater.
The arrangement in the theater seats audience members in every other row and in every other seat. No-go seats are sealed with plastic tape to ensure moviegoers stay one meter from each other.

Domestically produced films ‘A First Farewell,’ ‘Love You Forever,’ ‘Mr. Miao,’ and ‘Wild Grass’ have scrambled to set their release dates after news of cinemas reopening broke.

Viewers watch the first movie ‘A First Farewell’ starting at 0.00 a.m. yesterday at Hangzhou cinema Oscar Movie World following its reopening.

Cinemas fully trained their employees for Covid-19 control, such as detailed emergency and control plans. Here, a staffer in a Shanghai movie theater wipes three-dimensional viewing glasses. The glasses are only used once a day and disinfected after each use.
