Blaming trade with China for the US' economic challenges is a mistake that overlooks the deeper structural impacts of technology and AI, Robert Koopman, former WTO chief economist, said in an interview with Yicai on the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Asia. The real solution lies in domestic policies that equip society to navigate modern industrial shocks rather than scapegoating global trade, Koopman said.
