PBOC Carries Out Reverse Repos for First Time in 37 Days(Yicai Global) May 26 -- China's central bank poured fresh funds into the financial system today, conducting reverse repurchase agreements for the first time in the past 37 working days.
The People's Bank of China launched CNY10 billion (USD1.4 billion) worth of seven-day reverse repos at an unchanged rate of 2.20 percent. No previous such money-market instruments expire today.
The move should keep the banking system's liquidity "reasonably ample," the PBOC said today.
