(Yicai Global) Jan. 27 -- The People's Bank of China extracted CNY100 billion (USD15.42 billion) from the financial system via open market operations today, tightening liquidity for the second straight day.

The central bank conducted CNY180 billion in seven-day reverse repos at 2.2 percent as some CNY280 billion worth of previous ones matured.

The central bank also net retired CNY78 billion from the banking system yesterday as liquidity is currently adequate.
