(Yicai Global) Sept. 5 -- Didi Chuxing, China's most popular ride-hailing service, has identified business globalization as an important strategy going forward, founder Cheng Wei said at the BRICS Business Forum 2017 held in China's southern city of Xiamen, Fujian province.

The sharing economy is one of the core values of the internet era, he said, and China will remain a global leader in its development as well as in online mobility services over the next decade.

The firm plans to work with partners to introduce its innovative business model and technology to foreign markets.

"Didi's engineers collaborated with the 99 Taxis team in Brazil to help them improve technology and operational efficiency," Cheng added. "The partnership benefited local users and facilitated business upgrades in the local market."

The ride-sharing platform has invested in seven mobile travel services in Brazil, India, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and Southeast Asia, and operates in more than 1,000 cities worldwide, covering 60 percent of the global population, online news outlet Guangming reported on Sept. 4.

Didi Chuxing's globalization strategy also involves establishing transnational technology networks and developing smart city and smart transport technologies.
