SenseTime Healthcare Launches New Financing Round Right After Raising Tens of Millions of US Dollars(Yicai) Nov. 18 -- Right after completing a fundraiser worth hundreds of millions of Chinese yuan, equal to tens of millions of US dollars, Chinese artificial intelligence medical solutions provider SenseTime Healthcare launched a new financing round.
Well-known investment institutions, including Lenovo Capital Incubator Group, United Capital, Jiuxian Capital, and Shenran Investment, participated in SenseTime Healthcare's latest fundraiser, the company announced yesterday.
Once the next Series A financing round is completed, the firm will reach a valuation of over CNY3 billion (USD419.6 million), SenseTime Healthcare noted.
Even though the overall capital market has not yet fully recovered, financing in the AI medical field remains relatively active. For example, SenseTime Healthcare's peer Quanzhentong recently completed a Series B financing round worth CNY100 million (USD14 million).
"Promoting the intelligent upgrading of medical services, improving patients' overall medical experience, and building a standardized governance system for all medical data are inseparable from the empowerment of AI technologies, a healthcare investor told Yicai about the application prospects of AI in the medical industry.
AI tools should become the force empowering the medical system and platform, said Fan Jia, honorary president of Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai. "We need to accumulate more complex and comprehensive data, allowing AI to evolve through learning and analysis and forming capabilities and tools that can solve difficult and complex problems."
SenseTime Healthcare spun off from leading Chinese AI firm SenseTime Group. Based on SenseTime's SenseCare intelligent diagnosis and treatment platform and relying on its underlying algorithm capabilities, SenseTime Healthcare has built the Dayi intelligent agent development platform, which provides basic productivity for medical AI through multi-modal foundation model training.
As introduced by SenseTime Healthcare at the World AI Conference in July, the company has nearly 100 AI clinical auxiliary diagnosis and treatment tools, full-cycle patient service systems, and medical research intelligent agents.
The development and implementation of these AI diagnosis and treatment tools will help hospitals in Shanghai and other parts of China enhance their digital and intelligent service capabilities.
