Shanghai Bourse, FEAS Hold First Joint Event to Advance Eurasian Market Cooperation Shanghai Bourse, FEAS Hold First Joint Event to Advance Eurasian Market Cooperation

(Yicai) June 10 -- The Shanghai Stock Exchange has partnered with the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) to strengthen cooperation among capital markets across Eurasia through a joint exchange and training program held in Shanghai.

The collaboration marks the first time the SSE's Conference and Stock Exchange International Workshop has been organized together with FEAS, reflecting growing efforts to enhance communication and cooperation among exchanges and market institutions across the region.

The "2026 Conference and Stock Exchange International Workshop & Euro-Asian Capital Market Exchange Event" was recently held in Shanghai, bringing together more than 120 participants, including senior executives from nearly 30 exchanges across Eurasia, as well as representatives from securities firms, asset management institutions, and listed companies.

The four-day event was jointly hosted by the SSE, the Shanghai International Centre for Communication and Cooperation between Exchanges, and Yerevan-based FEAS, with support from the Asset Management Association of Shanghai. Participants discussed capital market development prospects in China, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia, along with opportunities for deeper cooperation among Eurasian markets.

Since its launch in 2019, the Conference and Stock Exchange International Workshop has been held six times. This year's edition focused on Eurasian capital market cooperation and attracted broad participation from domestic and overseas exchanges and financial institutions.

During the event, SSE experts delivered presentations on topics including "Introduction to CSI Indices and Indexed Investment," "Investor Protection and Education in the Self-Media Era," "ETF and Derivatives Markets," and "Application of New Technology in Stock Exchange Businesses," sharing China's experience in capital market development.

Participants also visited companies representing China's "new quality productive forces," a policy concept emphasizing innovation-led, high-tech economic growth, to gain first-hand insight into how the country's capital markets support advanced manufacturing and technological innovation.

In addition, overseas delegates attended a special exchange session supported by the Asset Management Association of Shanghai, where they learned about the development of China's asset management industry and Shanghai's efforts to build itself into a global asset management center.

The Shanghai International Centre for Communication and Cooperation between Exchanges was established in December 2018 to support Shanghai's development as an international financial center and promote the capital market's role in serving the Belt and Road Initiative, China's international development and connectivity program, through enhanced communication, exchanges, and information sharing among exchanges and related institutions worldwide.

Founded in 1995, FEAS aims to promote cooperation and development among capital markets across Eurasia. The organization currently has 30 members from 29 countries, including the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in the United Arab Emirates and the Amman Stock Exchange in Jordan, as well as other stock exchanges, post-trade institutions, dealer associations, and regional federations across the region.
