Shanghai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 to Draw Nearly a Thousand Brands(Yicai) Sept. 23 -- Shanghai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 is set to open on Oct. 8, featuring nearly a hundred debut shows, and with almost a thousand brands bringing their new collections.
The show is playing an increasingly important role in the service industry, connecting design, brands, commerce, and consumption. It will also feature trade exhibitions and industry exchanges, as part of its contribution to the global fashion sector.
This season, the MODE Shanghai Fashion Trade Show will again serve as the official commercial hub for the event, connecting brands, buyers, and retail outlets as well as offering exhibitions and professional showrooms to support the overall business network.
The 2027 Spring/Summer MODE Shanghai Fashion Trade Show will be held from Oct. 8 to 12 at Crystal Plaza Hongqiao in Changning district. The event will gather brands from China, South Korea, Russia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, and the United States, with overseas brands accounting for more than 50 percent of the total.
An important part of MODE this year will be the opening forum of the M SPACE Co-creation Talks, which will focus on the theme of "long-termism," inviting representatives from Chinese fashion brands and designers to share their insights. M SPACE will also collaborate with industry partners such as Kering, Anta Shanghai Design Center and Yicai to host forums on diverse and cutting-edge industry topics.
The runway shows and exhibitions work together to help overseas brands better understand new trends in Chinese consumption and aesthetics, as well as distribution channels. US brand Nana Jacqueline, based in Los Angeles, has been expanding its offline presence in China in recent years, and is hoping to deepen its connections with the Chinese market.
Other overseas brands such as Transit and Stivanano from Italy, Maison Wester from France, and Denmark-based Only will also showcase their collections on the runway as they seek new growth opportunities in China.
From Oct. 15 to 18, Adidas will host a show at the ROJO Art and Culture Space, and the French Federation of Men’s Fashion will make its debut at Shanghai Fashion Week, with an exhibition titled “Twin-City Prelude: French Men's Fashion Brand Joint Exhibition” from Oct. 10 to 12.
Additionally, the inFlux Shanghai-New York Fashion Design Exhibition will take place at the Nanxi Marine Station from Oct. 9 to 15, and the Elie Saab designer collaboration collection will have its China premiere preview on Oct. 16 at the H&M China concept store.
Following its appearance at this season's MODE exhibition, designer jewelry and accessories platform Voir Lab will present the "Drawn to Essence" exhibition, starting from Oct. 16 at the Rockbund, and the Sino-Italian Lifestyle Aesthetics Season will take place at the HKRI Taikoo Hui, starting from Oct. 16.
