Shanghai Launches Cross-Border Data Flow Infrastructure to Explore Blockchain Applications Shanghai Launches Cross-Border Data Flow Infrastructure to Explore Blockchain Applications

(Yicai) Nov. 2 -- Shanghai launched a cross-border data flow infrastructure to promote the use of blockchain and privacy computing to support cross-border data circulation and corporate financing at the Third Blockchain Innovation Summit Forum.

The forum was held on Oct. 31 during the 2026 Global Data Ecosystem Conference, which was hosted by Shanghai Data Group, organized by Shanghai Pujiang Digital Chain Technology and Shanghai Data’s subsidiary Yangtze River Delta Data Chain Shanghai Network Infrastructure, and co-organized by China Unicom Shanghai and Lingshu Technology.

The application scenarios of the cross-border data flow infrastructure, which was invested in and built by Yangtze River Delta Data Chain, were unveiled at the forum. Connected to the Shanghai hub of the national blockchain network through a cross-border and cross-chain gateway, the infrastructure uses blockchain and privacy computing technologies to make data usable but invisible, controllable, and traceable, enabling smooth and compliant cross-border data flows.

The Shanghai hub of the national blockchain network will focus on empowering scenarios such as government services and public welfare, trade and circulation, supply chain finance, and transportation and logistics. Rooted in the Yangtze River Delta, it will radiate across China and connect globally, linking up with other hubs to build a nationwide network and provide a trusted digital infrastructure for the market-based allocation of data elements.

Shanghai also officially launched the Hongqiao service station for cross-border credit financing at the forum. It will serve as an offline service entry point, providing consultation and professional matching services for companies in need.

Moreover, Yangtze River Delta Data Chain signed ecosystem cooperation agreements with 12 companies, including Pujiang Digital Chain, China Unicom Shanghai, and Lingshu, covering areas such as infrastructure, underlying technology, industry applications, and security compliance.

During the forum, a special committee under the Shipping Trade Digital Cooperation and Innovation Alliance also released five industry standards and guidelines covering areas such as blockchain technology architecture for shipping trade, smart contract management, bulk commodity data registration, and financial applications.
