(Yicai) Aug. 27 -- Shanghai has launched a post-investment services platform to help technology startups backed by state-owned funds access support beyond financing.

Managed by Shanghai State‑owned Capital Investment, the new platform has so far brought together more than 100 partners comprising local state‑owned enterprises, universities, research institutes, leading industrial firms, and professional institutions. Collectively, they contribute 24 resource types, including industry, finance, technology, and premises.

Shanghai’s state-owned investment fund space has expanded steadily in recent years, creating a relatively comprehensive funds portfolio. At the end of last year, their combined size had exceeded CNY660 billion (USD98.2 billion).

State funds should go beyond financing startups to provide support throughout their development, SSCI Chairman Yuan Guohua said at the platform's launch ceremony yesterday. “This will better leverage the role of state-owned capital funds in promoting the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation,” he said.

Through a single service window and a dedicated team, the platform will match technology innovators with resources and provide targeted support, tailored to their growth needs at every stage of their life cycle.

It will offer three types of services -- inclusive basic services, specialized core services, and comprehensive strategic services -- covering investment and finance, industry and ecosystems, tech and commercialization, talent and support, as well as comprehensive empowerment.

SSCI is one of Shanghai’s three major state-owned capital investment platforms, providing equity investment as well as financing, tech commercialization, talent, industry collaboration, and site-selection support.
