(Yicai Global) April 12 -- Shanghai reported 52 imported novel coronavirus cases yesterday, taking the eastern metropolis' total confirmed Covid-19 cases to 607, the city's health commission said this morning.

All the new additions were Chinese citizens. According to the commission, 51 of them were on the same flight from Russia which arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on April 10. The last one travelled from Canada.

Authorities have traced 92 people who had been in contact with the patients during their journeys and placed them under quarantine, the commission said.

It added 45 suspected cases, also involving people who have recently been overseas, are undergoing further tests.

The commission logged no confirmed domestically transmitted cases yesterday. It also reported no asymptomatic cases under observation in the city as of yesterday.

Shanghai has confirmed 607 Covid-19 cases so far, including 268 from overseas and 339 local cases. Of the imported cases, 158 patients are being treated, with one in serious condition, and 110 have been discharged upon recovery.

Of the 339 local cases, seven had died, four are in critical condition, and 328 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital, the commission said.
