(Yicai Global) June 5 -- Shanghai reported four more imported novel coronavirus cases yesterday, taking the eastern metropolis' total confirmed Covid-19 cases to 677, the city's health commission said this morning.

Among the new additions, two are Chinese citizens and the other two are Pakistani. One of the Chinese patiens who had been studying in the United States travelled back to Shanghai on June 2, while the other Chinese patient arrived in the city from Mexico on May 24. The Pakistani patients arrived at the Pudong International Airport on June 2, according to the commission.

Authorities have traced 113 people who had been in contact with the patients during their journey and placed them under quarantine, the commission said.

The commission logged no new confirmed domestically transmitted cases yesterday. It also reported no asymptomatic cases under observation in the city the same day.

Among the confirmed 336 imported Covid-19 cases, eight patients are being treated and 328 have been discharged upon recovery, the commission said.

It added one suspected case, also involving people who had recently been overseas, is undergoing further test.

Of the 341 local cases, seven have died and 334 patients have fully recovered and been released from hospital, the commission said.
