(Yicai Global) March 19 -- All the three major Chinese mainland stock benchmarks fell in the morning session but the Shanghai one dropped the most to reach its lowest in more than a year amid cautious sentiments as the Covid-19 pandemic wreaks havoc around the world.
The Shanghai Composite Index fell 2.14 percent to 2,670.37, going into lunchtime at the worst level since February 2019. The Shenzhen Component Index slid 1.93 percent to 9,836.21. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, closed 1.11 percent down at 1,866.14.
