(Yicai Global) Aug. 9 -- The magnitude 7.0 earthquake that hit Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan province last night killed a student employee at a park operated by Songcheng Performance Development Co. [SHE:300144], leaving some buildings damaged.

Its two subsidiaries, Aba Jiuzhaigou Qianguqing Tourism Development Co. and Jiuzhaigou Country Zangmi Culture Communications Co., ran two parks in Jiuzhaigou, both located close to the earthquake's epicenter, the company announced today.

The parks' management evacuated more than 10,000 visitors and staff immediately after the earthquake. Unfortunately, a student employee succumbed to the disaster. The company offered heartfelt condolences to the victim's family in the statement.

The main structures of the theaters in the parks were not badly affected by the earthquake, according to the statement, but some buildings have been damaged, and performances will be canceled starting today.

The earthquake will impair its business operations in Jiuzhaigou, Songcheng Performance predicts. These made up 5.65 percent of its total operating income and 7.06 percent of total net profit last year.

Sichuan Datong Gas Development Co. [SHE:000593], also has a Jiuzhaigou affiliate, Sichuan Province Jiuzhaigou Zijin Mining Co. However, Datong Gas Development has no projects or assets in the area, so the temblor has left its business activities intact, it said today.
