(Yicai Global) Aug. 14 -- Skyworth Digital Holdings Ltd. [SZ:00810] and ALi Corporation [TW:3041], a Taiwan-based chip company and a subsidiary of the Acer Group,will jointly found a joint-venture to manufacture computer chips.

Skyworth's wholly-owned subsidiary Shenzhen Skyworth Digital Technology Co. plans to establish a joint-venture company in Shenzhen together with partners including ALi Corporation, said a statement issued by the company on Aug. 11.

The registered capital of the joint-venture company will be CNY100 million (USD15 million). Shenzhen Skyworth Digital is to contribute CNY50 million, holding 50 percent of the equity, while ALi Corporation will invest CNY40 million and hold 40 percent stakes. A Hong Kong individual investor will also contribute CNY10 million for a 10 percent equity.

Shenzhen Skyworth Digital is one of the leading manufacturers of domestic set-top boxes. ALi Corporation is a global chip designer and innovative manufacturer, the companies said. The joint-venture company will develop and distribute semi-conductor chips in the upstream market for intelligent products in China by combining the advantages of both companies concerned.
