South China’s Largest Hydrogen Refueling Station Opens in Guangzhou South China’s Largest Hydrogen Refueling Station Opens in Guangzhou

(Yicai) July 31 -- The largest hydrogen refueling station in South China has been completed and put into operation in Guangzhou’s Baiyun district.

The Liangtian hydrogen refueling station opened to the public yesterday. It has a maximum daily refueling capacity of 4,000 kilograms, equivalent to the total of four typical medium-sized hydrogen refueling stations.

The Liangtian station has four hydrogen dispensers and eight independent hydrogen nozzles, each with a refueling flow rate of up to 3.6 kg per minute, which can greatly reduce vehicles’ waiting time, a spokesperson from Yuntao Hydrogen Energy Technology, the company that developed and now operates the station, told Yicai.

The station will effectively address the hydrogen supply bottleneck in the region and meet the concentrated refueling needs of large logistics vehicles and buses, the spokesperson explained.

By leveraging a comprehensive layout covering the entire hydrogen chain, from production, storage, and transportation to refueling and use, the Liangtian station has established a multi-level hydrogen supply system that can ensure a stable and cost-effective supply of hydrogen, the spokesperson noted.

Guangzhou has been investing heavily in the hydrogen industry. The city provides subsidies to hydrogen refueling stations that meet designated operational scale threshold and to enterprises involved in the development and production of hydrogen fuel cell systems and hydrogen fuel vehicle manufacturers.
