(Yicai Global) Jan. 3 -- Beijing-based Artificial Intelligence Security Co. has closed A-round funding worth CNY100 million (USD15 million) from internet titan Tencent Holdings Ltd, online media outlet Leifeng quoted the company as saying in a statement.

AISec plans to use the funds to research smart and cloud security and expand its range of partners before unveiling its next-gen AI-based intrusion detection system this year. It will also use its strengths in application layers and integrate its services with Tencent's cloud development strategy.

Founded in 2012, AISec researches and provides security services, such as spatial mapping technology for the Internet of Things assets, vulnerabilities in Web 2.0 mining technology, historical data analysis and intrusion detection.

The firm is committed to standardizing security efficiency and defense mechanisms, and integrates security with machine learning, it claims via its official account on WeChat, a social media platform.
